11.1 Tinkercad
I had some experience in 3D modeling in college. It was one of the first assignments I was given my freshman year of college. I remember hating it. The software was incredibly complicated. We were asked to make a hand and I remember my friend and I laughing over how terrible our attempts were. I strongly ruled out 3D modeling after that experience. So, I was apprehensive about Tinkercad. However, I found it far more enjoyable of an experience! The platform was easy to use and after some practice with navigating the plane, I felt comfortable making 3D objects. The pre-made forms encouraged me to be silly, so I made a little duck creature with classes and a mustache. I'm curious to see how the ease of the platform translates to actually printing. I'd be encouraged to use this in my teaching if printing feels assessible for me and young students.
